I’m Joel Jenkins, better known as Swole Joel, and I’m here to help you transform your life through fitness. My journey began as a young teenager, and over the years, it has grown into a lifelong passion that I’m excited to share with you.
From Struggles to Strength
My fitness journey started when I was around 10 years old. At that time, I was short and chubby, but when I hit puberty, I shot up to 6 feet tall and weighed only about 120 pounds. Suddenly, I found myself extremely skinny, and I became the target of teasing and bullying. My self-esteem took a hit, and I knew I needed to make a change. I had a Goal to be Swole. Without access to a gym or weights, I improvised by filling milk jugs with water and using them to build muscle. It was a small start, but it helped me regain some confidence and sparked a passion for fitness.
As I entered high school, I got involved in sports like wrestling and weightlifting, which helped me get stronger. However, despite my dedication, I struggled to gain significant muscle mass and size. I spent years chasing the physique I wanted, but progress was slow and frustrating. I fell into the trap of inconsistency, overtraining, and relying on "gym bro" science, which only led to burnout and discouragement. I would push myself to the limit, only to take months off before trying again, repeating the same mistakes.
It took a lot of trial and error, researching fitness articles, and piecing together various bits of advice before I started to see real gains. Looking back, I realize how much time and frustration I could have saved if I had sought the guidance of a professional trainer—someone who could have provided me with a customized plan tailored to my specific needs and goals.
Turning Passion into Profession
In 2022, I decided to turn my passion for fitness into a profession. I began studying with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and earned my certification as a personal trainer. That same year, I started working at a commercial gym, where I had the opportunity to train clients with diverse goals and challenges. The experience deepened my understanding of fitness and fueled my desire to help others succeed.
Since then, I’ve continued to expand my expertise, earning five additional NASM certifications and specializations in areas such as nutrition, weight loss, corrective exercise, and bodybuilding. My journey has brought me to a place where I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of clients achieve their fitness goals.

With years of experience and knowledge under my belt, I launched Swole Goals Fitness to reach even more people and make a lasting impact on their lives. My goal is to offer personalized training and advanced nutritional guidance that fit seamlessly into your lifestyle—whether you’re training at home or in the gym.

A Bit About Me
When I’m not working with clients, I’m spending quality time with my family. I’m married to my incredible wife, Annie—we tied the knot in May 2023. She’s my rock and brings so much love and balance to my life. Through our marriage, I’ve been blessed with a 15-year-old stepdaughter and a 20-year-old stepson. We’re a close-knit family that loves cheering each other on and making the most of our time together, whether we’re celebrating milestones or just relaxing at home. Being with them keeps me grounded and motivates me to give my best in everything I do.
